Moving forward using all my breath
Making love to you was never second best
I saw the world crashing all around your face
Never really knowing it was always mesh and lace
I’ll stop the world and melt with you
You’ve seen the difference and it’s getting better all the time
And there’s nothing you and I won’t do
I’ll stop the world and melt with you
(We should know better) Dream of better lives the kind which never hate
(We should see) Trapped in a state of imaginary grace
(We should know better) I made a pilgrimage to save this human’s race
(We should see) Never comprehending a race that’s long gone by
(Let’s stop the world) I’ll stop the world and melt with you
(Let’s stop the world) You’ve seen the difference and it’s getting better all the time
And there’s nothing you and I won’t do
(Let’s stop the world) I’ll stop the world and melt with you
The future’s open wide
I’ll stop the world and melt with you
(I’ll stop the world) You’ve seen some changes and it’s getting better all the time
And there’s nothing you and I won’t do
(I’ll stop the world) I’ll stop the world and melt with you
The future’s open wide
I’ll stop the world and melt with you
(I’ll stop the world) You’ve seen the difference and it’s getting better all the time
And there’s nothing you and I won’t do
(I’ll stop the world) I’ll stop the world and melt with you
I’ll stop the world and melt with you (I’ll stop the world and melt with you)

Pictures I love that have been scanned from old contact sheets. None of these are final prints. Maybe I’ll pull out a bunch of contact sheets from modeling. It’s fun going back. This is what I miss about how photography used to be. Getting a contact sheet, looking at it with the photographer, discussing each picture. Arguing over why one stands out above all the rest without the need for a computer screen. I always hated my butt, Bryce never saw my butt the way I did. One got a hell yes from him, while the other got a no way am I showing that to anyone from me. And it was never about his talent… it was always about my insecurities. Because when I look at some of the pictures I said no to 7 years ago, I really think I may have been completely insane. But I am anal. But so is Bryce. Very anal, since he never printed any of these and well… I kind of think they rock. But getting back to contact sheets. As I hold this one up and look at it… it feels so much more authentic than a CD Rom. It looks like someone loved it once. It looks like someone cared about these pictures. It looks like a project laid out ready to be birthed. I have more images on contact sheets than anything else. The images I have on CD Roms I never look at. I am so very thankful I was a model before digital technology really took hold and that I have these contact sheets to look back on now.

Right before the MTV Music Video awards on 9.9.1999, Nine Inch Nails went to the Bahamas for a month in August to rehearse for the show. So, we camped out at a little hotel owned by Island Records with a music studio right across the street. Led Zepplin recorded there. Bob Marley. The Stones. You name it. While my husband was working in the studio I didn’t have much to do during the day except snorkel, lounge around by the pool, order expensive drinks with umbrellas in them and harass Bryce Lankard to fly down and do some photos. He did. And this is what happened.

Meerpee always wanted to model. He demanded to be in the frame. So Lindsay just ran with it.

I just spent an evening standing next to Manuello signing photography books from the toy camera show we were both in last night. So, our images are fresh in my mind. Thought I’d share.

There’s a corner in my house that gets such beautiful light. Upon return from the frozen tundra which is the North East, I’m doing rituals to wrap my heart back around the sun. One was sitting in this corner in the morning. And I thought, “I really wish I had a model.†then said, “duh.†No model, no problem.

OK – so I’ve known Mick for YEARS now. Three days after I launched ARTnudes.com he was my very first subscriber. And years after, he’s been just like a brother. Before “social networking” was alive and fully fluent on the webs ~ I started this discussion forum on Excite.com – I’m talking 1998. Oh how naive I was to think that it would last. But, Mick was on board all throughout. He helped me weed out trolls then and he’s still helping me. Anyway… We went from excite.com (closed down due to nudity), to Communityzero.com (closed down due to nudity), to yahoo.com (closed it down because it was horrible), and then finally to my own site hosted on my own servers. No more closing down. In 2000, when my husband was touring with Nine Inch Nails, I stayed over an extra day in Sydney before heading to Melbourne and modeled for Michael. He brought me to this great white space of a studio and then turned on Prince. Done. I was ready. We made some awesome images. Here are a few. (That story was entirely too short! I’ll have to make up for that.)

I’m leaving on a jet plane… don’t know when I’ll be back again…
Stay tuned for some snap shots of my travels on my official website: http://www.zoewiseman.com
Leaving on a great note. My modeling work is hanging in two galleries: Bryce Lankard’s in North Carolina and Michael Marlborough’s in Melbourne, AU, and my photography work was just published in a book from Sweden from 1x.com.
I’ll be back soon…
