Tags are key words, descriptive words, which describe each of your blog posts. Search engines love them. Consider tag words as searches. A good way to drive a lot of traffic to your blog is to describe each post you make in detail. Hypothetically say I just made a post with some pictures. How would I go about describing them?
1. Camera used
2. model i worked with
3. film i used
4. lens i used
5. city, state, country i was in
6. did i shoot in black and white, or color?
7. describe the story in a few words separated by commas.. savannah, georgia, model, nikon, 300mm, 120, black and white, marsh, nude, fine, art, photographer, my, name, photograph, photo, nudes
Get it? Now when someone googles for marshy black and white nudes, you have a great chance of coming up on the front page of that search. And after you put in your tags, make sure to click on WIDGETS under appearance (i made a video for this one in an earlier post) and put it into the sidebar of your blog. Then each time you make a post your tag cloud accumulates key word after key word and google and every other search engine will start LOVING your website because it helps their bots do their jobs. It greatly improves your page ranking. If you look to the right of this blog you’ll see our tag cloud for this tutorial.
If you don’t put in any key words, the bots have a harder time working and will move on to easier websites that give them the information they need. They might come back to you later, or not.
Make sure you check out the key words I made for this post underneath the text. VVVVVVV down there VVVVVVVV
