Over 50 years since I started photography in school days, then twenty of twenty-five years as police officer was as a forensic photographer. In 1985 I was retired due to an injury at work and then operated as freelance photographer.

Since 1988 I have been in the remote NW Highlands of Scotland, wide range of freelance photographic work, but from 1990 to 2004 was also freelance cameraman for BBC & ITV.

Been involved for last decade with art nude shoots mainly in the landscape. Being a rather narrow minded area means all the models come from at least 200 miles away, but often much further afield. This means shoots are almost always a full day with models staying here at least a couple of nights.

I have travelled abroad with models a couple of times a year since 2003, including several Community Zoe meets at Woodstock, Joshua Tree x2, 29 Palms and Cairns.

Brought up on roll film and 5×4 and now using mainly digital, but I still shoot very much the same as I did in film days. Just a few minutes at a location with rarely more than a dozen pictures, then move on.

I encourage models to suggest pictures and spot locations, some of my best pictures have resulted from their input. It’s a collaboration, sometimes one will suggest something, the other modifies it, and we end up with an image neither may have thought of at the outset.
