Carlotta was my first underwater shoot with my Nikonos V underwater 35mm film camera. Enjoy. 🙂

Beautiful images, Zoe. Also thanks for the Carlton Mickle namecheck and Connie Imboden mention from Carson Zullinger, neither of whom I knew of before.

I directed an underwater nude project myself a little while back, a series of Martini sponsorship promos for a season of James Bond films on British ITV. The films were shown before the 9pm watershed, so it was not possible to show explicit nudity, hence the visual stylisation, which influenced a lot of my subsequent work.

I ultimately recut the footage into SHAKEN, a promo for the music track composed for the series that was afterwards released as a 12″: http://colonymedia.co.uk/mariocavalli/work/shaken/

You are getting nice rhythms between the reflections and the body. The black backdrop makes the compositions work so well. I can’t decide which one I like the best because they are all so good! If you are not familiar with her work google images by Connie Imboden. She in the past worked on underwater reflections. Her work first got me interested in exploring under the surface.

Thanks. Didn’t know about that photographer either. beautiful work.
Carlton Mickle perked my interest in shooting underwater. He’s a New Orleans photographer who I used to model for. He started shooting underwater after I moved to Los Angeles so I never got to get in the water with him. boo. But he’s shot some really beautiful images. His pregnant underwater nudes are dreamy.

wet and wild, Z. these shots convey a womblike experience. i prefer the colored one in the series presented here. tho the B+W expresses the womb just fine
