I had the pleasure of working with the fabulous Ella Rose a couple of times over this summer. On the second occasion as we were heading back at the end of the shoot, the sky darkened with the promise of an impending storm so we stopped to do a quick set in a field of barley. A whole field of the same crop has much more impact as a texture; the barley took on a liquid feel moving to and fro in the breeze. I shouldn’t wonder if there was a bumper harvest though after this visit from England’s very own Demeter!
From a recent adventure on the wilds of Dartmoor with the wonderful Raphaella. I was just within splashing distance so was able to experience just how cold that stream was first hand!
After having images selected for the Detroit Dirty Show and the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, this the the image that was selected for the upcoming StyleAid benefit art show for the WA Aids Foundation –

This years theme is :
Sensory overload: the sensual touch of velvet, the depth of a midnight sky; the fragrance of a hundred roses; the melodic tones of violins; the taste of life.
Sumptuous, luxurious, extravagant, lavish and decadent.

This image reminds me of the chaos in our daily lives. It was taken rather quickly during my Amore Toscana 2010 fine art nude workshops. I borrowed the model for this quick shot in-between student shooting sessions. The timing was perfect as the sun was setting on the horizon. I feel that her expression helps to underscore the sense of confusion and feeling of loss that I wanted to convey in this setting. Her pose gives the impression that she is protectively shielding herself from the invading light. In post-processing, I used a cross-processing technique to give the image an alien color tone. Please visit my website for more information about me or my workshops.
