On the first night as we gathered around the table on the back porch of our house overlooking the South-Pacific Ocean with warm tropical breezes blowing through our hair, I could tell this was going to be a wonderful fest. Our ninth year together making art, BBQs, killing wasps (see the Australia 2010 blog for that one), and chilling. No drama just fun. Met new friends, hugged old ones and kept the spirt of “Zoe” Fest alive. That night we walked a pitch black trail in the rain forest over to Cameron Attree, Malcom Grant and Phil Chaplin’s luxurious abode that looked like it should be in Greece and not Australia. On the way we were reminded that we were indeed in Tropical North Queensland when we stumbled upon a 7ft Python slithering across the way. I think my scream was scarier than the snake. That and fright killed the torch I had lit to light our way. Sorry ladies and gents. The week was filled with adventure!
Our nightly slide shows are always seriously inspirational and this year was no exception. I’m still waiting for everyone who produced a slide show to upload theirs so I can publish them here, but the winners were Malcolm Grant and Rebecca Lawrence. Malcolm won a copy of Aperture 3 and Rebecca snagged $50.00. I hope you find them as entertaining as I did. Malcolm showed some of his beautiful work mixed in with music that really went with his theme along with some intelligent design aspects that kept your attention and made you interested in what image came next. Rebecca totally hit not only on her amazing modeling career, but also upon the LIFE of a model by including all kinds of cool snaps she’s taken along her travels. It was one of the best modeling slide shows I have ever seen. So much creativity from both of the winners and from all who participated! It was quite a task picking a winner.
So without further ado… Here are the winning slide shows for Australia 2010 Zoe Fest. And a couple of photographs from both Malcolm and Rebecca that were taken this year.
