  Every year we have slide show nights and last year we started giving away little prizes for the most entertaining slide shows. One’s that keep your attention, move at a welcoming pace and use imagination in producing something to showcase their images. Malcolm Grant won the photographer side of things. He won a copy of Aperture 3.

  Here’s one of the images he shot this year at Mission Beach during ZoeFest 2010.

  The Floater 

  Carlotta wanted me to shoot her face down in the pool, like a dead girl. She thought it would be \ii/, so I agreed. We got some pretty things too. I loved this shoot and love working with Carly!

  Anne’s adventure 

  This was my first Zoefest and it has been such a wonderful experience. Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to Mission Beach half way through (to return home for a wedding) but my short stay was one to remember. The highlights for me were making new friends with amazingly creative people from around the world and creating the artwork that you see here. Submersing myself in the rich tropical environment which is totally inspiring and so different to where I live, and new experiences like shooting underwater. I had never done an underwater shoot before! It was hard work but so much fun.

    I wondered where that video went. i thought you were taking it on my camera. lol i definitely would have edited out the bum floating moments. i promise i am an underwater pro now with scars to prove it.

    Love you pictures. Well done chick. i have a few from the beach i took also. Those wee sand balls were so cute.xx

  9 Naked in Public Cause Zero Disturbance

  In the land down under, it takes a lot to disturb others. They generally pass by with a curious look and go on their way without much fanfare. I asked parents with children if they cared before we did this and the response was, “Well, I reckon that’d be alright.” And the look was astoundingly that of “Why ask? Just do it.” So I was able to do something that would have gotten us all arrested in the United States and had a blast doing it. One lady even stopped to applaud us. Oh, just to be back there.

    Great images Zoe, the attitude you experienced is the way Aussies are, they may look but they do not get in the way. I’ve been here 16 yrs and have shot in many public places. The issue I’ve run into is the taxi drivers and street cleaners coming back for more looks. Never a problem or issue, usually they are the one apologizing for jogging into the scene.. It’s great being here.
