I took this image right at the beginning of summer. It was a great day for photos, not too bright and hot and not cold either.
I think what really makes this image for me is the circular shadows on the arm and breast. I really like little details like that.

This is something a bit different.
Whenever I’m shooting polaroid I love the way the negative side of the peel apart film looks. Unfortunately it eventually fades and doesn’t keep very well so I decided in this particular case to scan it and keep a record. The scan doesn’t do complete justice to the real thing but its still pretty interesting.

When Zivity opened up a Polaroid contest I just knew I had to put up a new set!
I got together with Spaci and we did an even mixture of using an old Polaroid camera as a prop and taking some instant film with some Fuji stock I had sitting around. The result is a pretty amazing set that I’m rather proud of. You can check it out here:

If you are a member and you have some votes to spare I’d very much appreciate it!

I loved the soft glowing light in this window and Merrique as the perfect person to shoot in it.

A lot of times when I’m shooting indoors I bring along a digital camera as a way of checking exposure. My skills at measuring light inside leaves a lot to be desired so I always figure some instant feedback isn’t a bad idea.
I’m sure there will be a ton of film shots from this session in the coming months but I do like the way the color purple was rendered here along with all the lens flair. I’ll admit this was only semi on purpose but it turned out pretty cool.

It’s been a while since I’ve shot with this lovely model. The entire time I was shooting I was thinking in my head, “what on earth took me so long!!?”

More playing around with Efke Direct Positive Paper and the 8×10 pinhole.
I’m almost hesitant to share this image because the actual print is by far better than the scan I’m posting now. There are a lot of little details and tonal variations that my scanner is just not giving justice to.
For those curios, exposure for this on a bright sunny day was about 4 minutes so I did the first three minutes with the model laying on the door and the final minute with the model standing off in the distance. I think it turned out pretty good.
