Hi my name’s Anne. I’ve been around the art modeling scene for some time now but this website is all very new to me so I thought I’d post a little info about how I came to be here ; )
It was 2001 and I was approached on the street by the owner of a modeling agency who provided nude models for photographic and artistic work. It sounded interesting and I, who have always had a great intrest in art, nature and anything new and exciting, dewlled on the idea for at most half a day, then eagerly called up the agency to say that I was in! A week later I had my first booking, a well known Canberra artist who sketched nude figures from charcoal in an abstract kind of a way. I was surprisingly confident for someone who had never even thought of doing this type of work before and I felt a sense of empowerment come from this confidence. The job was alot of fun and couldn’t wait for my next session. I was given the freedom to incorporate my ideas into the artists work as with his work it was, among other things, about capturing the models personality. It was a joint collaboration and that is what appealed to me the most.
Only a week or so after, I got a booking for my first photographic shoot. This was quite different but appealed to me as much as lifedrawing as it was still art, just using a different medium. From then on I had quite a few modeling jobs. Not only for figure modeling but also some fashion work, they even casted a mould of my body for a dashboard of a car!
Unfortunately the agency started to head in the wrong direction (for me anyway) and I decided that it was about time I venture into this creative world myself and look for work. But where do I start? Just as opportunity had found me the first time I was on my way home form work again and I was approached by a local photographer asking if I had ever modeled before. We got chatting and he enlightened me to the word of the internet! That week I bought myself a computer. The internet was the start for a modeling career for me. I had access to various online portfolio sites and the ability to connect with photographers and artist all over the world. There was opportunity wherever I looked. It wasn’t long and I started getting work all over Australia. It took me on adventures to our country’s most beautiful places and enabled me to meet many wonderful like minded people.
By this stage I wasn’t just working as a figure model but had also worked for many designers and had various jobs for exhibitions, magazines, books, advertising, websites, music film clips, and fashion shows. I even got the chace to work with one of Australias/Hollywoods top film directors!
My passion for this work eventually took me overseas to the UK, France and Japan for a short period of time. It was amazing to be able to travel the world doing what I love. I plan to travel to more of the worlds countries soon and am currently organising a trip to the US.
I have met so many people and have gained so much experience over the last 9 years and am very lucky to have had such opportunities. I hope that the future years are just as fulfilling.

I’m glad you started and were the first nude model I photographed
nice story. we all have different one’s. always nice to hear.
Sounds similar to me in your start in that I was approached by a friend of an artist in SF who wanted new subjects. Then did it sporadically over the years until landing in NYC and now in SF and next near to LA.
It was meant to be and i am glad it was or i would never have gotten to meet you, =)
